Bridgman (Moon)

Named after Percy Williams Bridgman - American physicist; Nobel laureate (1882-1961).

Bridgman is a lunar impact crater on the far side. It lies in the northern hemisphere, to the northwest of the crater Kurchatov. To the west-southwest is the old formation Becquerel, and eastward are the craters Pawsey and Wiener. The prominent outer wall is only somewhat worn, and retains much of its original detail including traces of terrace structures and slumping. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
