Wiener (Moon)

Named after Norbert Wiener - American mathematician (1894-1964).

Wiener is a lunar impact crater that lies. It is located just to the southwest of the larger crater Campbell. To the southwest is the heavily worn Kurchatov. To the east along the rim of Campbell is Von Neumann. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
