Kondratyuk (Moon)

Named after Yury Vasilyevich Kondratyuk - Soviet rocketry scientist (1897-1942).

Kondratyuk is a worn crater. It is located to the west-northwest of the large walled plain Fermi, and to the northeast of the crater Hilbert. To the north-northwest is Meitner, and to the northeast lies Langemak. This is an eroded crater formation with a rim that has been partly damaged by subsequent impacts. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
