Danjon (Moon)

Named after Andre Danjon - French astronomer (1890-1967).

Danjon, is a lunar crater on the far side. It lies less than a crater diameter to the east-southeast of the larger crater Langemak. To the east-northeast is the crater Perepelkin, and due south lies the walled plain Fermi. The northeastern rim is overlain by the smaller crater D'Arsonval. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
