Named after William Henry Fox Talbot - British photographer, physicist, archaeologist (1800-1877).

Talbot is a small lunar crater on the Mare Smythii, near the eastern limb. It lies. The crater is entirely surrounded by the dark lunar mare. It is a circular, bowl-shaped formation with an almost featureless interior floor. (wikipedia entry)
