Balboa (Moon)

Named after Vasco Nuñez de Balboa - Spanish explorer (1475-1519).

Balboa is a lunar crater that is located near the western limb. It is comparable in size to the crater Dalton, located just to the southwest. The eastern rim lies just to the west of the Oceanus Procellarum. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
