Artsimovich (Moon)

Named after Lev Andreevich Artsimovich - Soviet physicist (1909-1973).

Artsimovich is a small lunar impact crater located in the western Mare Imbrium of the Earth's Moon. To the east is the crater Diophantus and to the northeast lies Delisle. Less than 20 kilometers to the north-northeast is the tiny Fedorov. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
