Meggers (Moon)

Named after William Frederick Meggers - American physicist (1888-1966).

Meggers is an impact crater that lies on the far side. Nearby craters of note include Olcott to the southwest, and Innes and Seyfert farther away to the northwest. To the east lies Vernadskiy. The rim is roughly circular in form, with slight outward bulges to the southeast and northeast. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
