Hédervári (Moon)

Named after Peter Hédervári - Hungarian geoscientist (1931-1984).

Hédervári is a lunar crater that is located in the southern part , only a few crater diameters from the south lunar pole. It is attached to the northern rim of the larger crater Amundsen, and lies south of Hale. Due to its location, this crater is viewed nearly from the edge from Earth, which hinders the amount of detail that can be observed. It is also illuminated obliquely by the Sun, and the interior is often cloaked in shadows. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
