Henderson (Moon)

Named after Thomas Henderson - Scottish astronomer (1798-1844).

Henderson is a crater on the far side. It is located to the east of the huge walled plain Mendeleev. This is a worn crater with a shallow rim. No significant craters overlie the rim or interior, but a smaller, worn crater is attached to the southern outer rim. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
