Esnault-Pelterie (Moon)

Named after Robert-Albert-Charles Esnault-Pelterie - French rocketry engineer (1881-1957).

Esnault-Pelterie is a lunar crater on the far side. It is located in the northern hemisphere, to the south of the crater Carnot. Esnault-Pelterie overlies the western side of the crater Schlesinger. To the south is the crater Von Zeipel and to the southwest is Fowler. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
