Bose (Moon)

Named after Jagadis Chandra Bose - Indian botanist, physicist (1858-1937).

Bose is a lunar impact crater on the far side , in the southern hemisphere. It lies just to the northwest of the smaller crater Bhabha, and southeast of Alder. The outer rim has become worn and the edges rounded by impacts, although the shape of the wall is still well-preserved. The small satellite crater Bose D lies across the east-northeastern rim, and a smaller craterlet has impacted on the inner southeast wall. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
