Bingham (Moon)

Named after Hiram Bingham - American explorer (1875-1956).

Bingham is a small lunar crater on the far side , relative to the Earth. To the northeast is the crater Guyot, and about a crater diameter to the south-southeast is Katchalsky. This is a roughly circular crater formation with a slight outward bulge along the southeastern side. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
