Bernoulli (Moon)

Jacques; Swiss mathematician (1654-1705); Jean; Swiss mathematician (1667-1748). (Spelling changed from Bernouilli.)

Bernoulli is a lunar impact crater that is located in the northeast part. It lies to the south of the crater Messala, and east of Geminus. This formation is nearly circular with several slight outward bulges around the perimeter. There is a sunken depression along part of the southern wall, forming an outward triangular bulge in the rim. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
