Tolansky (Moon)

Named after Samuel Tolansky - British physicist (1907-1973).

Tolansky is a small, circular lunar impact crater that is located due south of the crater Parry on the Mare Cognitum. A rille belonging to the Rimae Parry almost connects with the north-northwestern rim. Tolansky was formerly known as Parry A, prior to its current name being approved by the IAU in 1976. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
