Tesla (Moon)

Named after Nikola Tesla - American scientist of Serbian origin (1856-1943).

Tesla is a lunar crater that is located , just to the southeast of the larger H. G. Wells. Tesla is a circular, bowl-shaped feature. There are a pair of small craterlets in the southern inner wall, but the crater is otherwise free of overlapping craters of significance. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
