Syria Planum (Mars)

Syria Planum is a broad plateau on surface of Mars, forming part of Tharsis region. It has been confirmed that low shield volcanoes exist in this region. (wikipedia entry)

A planum is a plateau or high plain. On Mars they are named after the nearest named albedo feature on the Schiaparelli or Antoniadi maps.
