Named after Strabo - Greek geographer (54 B.C.- A.D. 24).

Strabo is a lunar crater that is located near the northeastern rim. It is attached to the north rim of the walled plain De La Rue. To the west is the smaller crater Thales. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
