Sarabhai (Moon)

Named after Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai - Indian astrophysicist (1919-1971).

Sarabhai is a small, circular, bowl-shaped crater on the Mare Serenitatis, in the northeast quadrant. It lies along a wrinkle ridge designated the Dorsum Azara. This crater was previously identified as Bessel A before being renamed by the IAU in 1973. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
