Sabatier (Moon)

Named after Paul Sabatier - French chemist; Nobel laureate (1854-1941).

Sabatier is a small lunar impact crater that is located near the eastern limb , at the southwestern fringes of the Mare Marginis. It lies in a isolated area, with the nearest named crater being the walled plain Neper to the southeast. This is a nearly circular formation, with a low outer rim and a circular floor about half the crater's diameter. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
