Perkin (Moon)

Named after Richard Scott Perkin - American telescope manufacturer (1906-1969).

Perkin is a lunar impact crater that is located in the northern hemisphere. Immediately to the north is the larger crater Debye. Just to the southeast is the somewhat smaller cater Guillaume, and to the west-southwest lies Dunér. To the northwest is the large walled plain D'Alembert. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
