Onizuka (Moon)

Named after Ellison Shoji Onizuka - member of the Challenger crew (1946-1986).

Onizuka is a small lunar impact crater that lies within the inner ring of the walled plain Apollo. The central portion of Apollo has been covered by dark basaltic lava, and Onizuka lies at the southern edge of this plain. To the southeast is the crater Borman, and to the west-southwest is Chaffee. Onizuka is a circular, bowl-shaped crater with a sharp edge. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
