Nagaoka (Moon)

Named after Hantaro Nagaoka - Japanese physicist (1865-1940).

Nagaoka is a lunar crater that lies to the southeast of the Mare Moscoviense, on the far side. To the east is the somewhat larger Konstantinov. This is a moderately eroded crater formation, with the satellite crater Nagaoka W overlapping the northwestern rim. The remainder of the rim remains well-defined, although it is overlain by several tiny craterlets. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
