Morse (Moon)

Named after Samuel Finley Breese Morse - American inventor (1791-1872).

Morse is a lunar impact crater on the far side and cannot be seen directly from the Earth. It lies about one crater diameter to the southwest of the larger Fitzgerald. To the west-northwest is Dante. This is a well-defined crater with features that have not been markedly eroded by subsequent impacts. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
