Manzinus (Moon)

Named after Manzini, Carlo Antonio Manzinus - Italian astronomer (1599-1677).

Manzinus is a lunar crater that is located in the southern region 's near side. It lies less than one crater diameter to the south-southwest of the crater Mutus, and to the northwest of Boguslawsky. The latter is a crater with nearly the same dimension and a comparable appearance to Manzinus. The outer rim is worn, eroded, and somewhat irregular. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
