Lubbock (Moon)

Named after Sir John William Lubbock - British astronomer, mathematician (1803-1865).

Lubbock is a small lunar crater on the western edge of Mare Fecunditatis. It is located to the north of the crater Gutenberg, and south of Secchi. Lubbock is circular, with a low rim and flat interior. There is a small break in the eastern wall. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
