Kuiper (Moon)

Named after Gerard Peter Kuiper - Dutch-American astronomer (1905-1973).

Kuiper crater has the highest recorded albedo of any region on the planet's surface, suggesting that it is one of the youngest craters. Kuiper overlies the northern rim of the larger crater Murasaki. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
