Kramers (Moon)

Named after Hendrik Anthony Kramers - Dutch physicist (1894-1952).

Kramers is an old lunar crater on the northern hemisphere on the far side. It lies some distance to the west of the larger crater Coulomb, and to the northwest of the smaller Weber. The outer rim is heavily eroded and worn, although the perimeter of the original crater can be readily discerned. The younger, but comparably sized formation Kramers C intrudes into the northeast rim, and the two form a crater pair. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
