Kleymenov (Moon)

Named after Ivan Terent'evich Kleymenov - Soviet rocketry scientist (1898-1938).

Kleymenov is a crater on the far side. It is located near the east-northeastern outer wall of the huge walled plain Apollo, and to the west-northwest of the large crater Chebyshev. To the north is Mariotte. This is an older, worn feature, particularly along the western edge where ejecta material covers the rim and part of the inner walls and floor. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
