Hagecius (Moon)

Named after Hayek, Thaddaeus Hagecius - Czechoslovakian astronomer, mathematician (1525-1600).

Hagecius is a lunar impact crater in the southeastern part 's near side. This crater forms a triangular formation with the craters Rosenberger to the north-northwest and Nearch to the west-northwest. Like both of these craters, Hagecius has undergone erosion from subsequent impacts, and its outer rim is worn and irregular. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
