Fredholm (Moon)

Named after Erik Ivar Fredholm - Swedish mathematician (1866-1927).

Fredholm is a small lunar impact crater that is located in the rugged ground to the west of the Mare Crisium. This is a circular, symmetrical formation with a bowl-shaped interior. The inner walls gradually slope down towards the small, central floor, which is less than one quarter the total diameter of the crater. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
