Debus (Moon)

Named after Kurt Heinrich Debus - German physicist (1908-1983).

Debus is a small lunar crater on the far side , past the eastern limb. It lies to the east-southeast of the crater Ganskiy, and just to the west of the huge walled plain Pasteur. This is a circular crater with a bowl-shaped appearance. The rim is worn, and several tiny craterlets lie along the edge. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
