Coriolis (Moon)

Named after Gaspard-Gustave de Coriolis - French physicist (1792-1843).

Coriolis is a lunar impact crater on the far side. The crater floor is bisected by the lunar equator, and it lies about three crater diameters northwest of the crater Daedalus. The rim of this formation is somewhat eroded, and several small craters lie along the edge. The northern rim is somewhat damaged, and has a slight outward bulge and depression in the side. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
