Scheele (Moon)

Named after Carl Wilhelm Scheele - Swedish chemist (1742-1786).

Scheele is a tiny, bowl-shaped lunar impact crater that lies on the Oceanus Procellarum, to the south of the small crater Wichmann. Just to the west are several low ridges projecting above the surface of the lunar mare. This crater was previously designated Letronne D before being named by the IAU after the chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
