Oceanus Procellarum (Moon)

Named after the "Ocean of Storms"

Oceanus Procellarum is a vast lunar mare on the western edge of the near side. It is the only one of the lunar maria to be called an "Oceanus" (wikipedia entry)

A oceanus is a very large dark area. On the Moon they are named after latin terms describing weather and other abstract concepts.
