Babbar Patera (Io)

Sumerian; sun god.

Babbar Patera is a patera, or a complex crater with scalloped edges, on Jupiter's moon Io. Some scarps near Babbar Patera may represent faults. Immediately south is the plateau Lyrcea Planum, and further south is Svarog Patera. (wikipedia entry)

A patera is an irregular crater, or a complex one with scalloped edges. Usually the dish-shaped depression atop a volcano. On Io they are named after words for fire, sun or thunder; volcano gods, heroes, goddesses or mythical blacksmiths.
