Io

Upsystem: Thebe, Downsystem: Europa

Io is a moon of Jupiter. Io is highly geologically active - the gravity of Jupiter and the other moons pull it in different directions and generate heat in the moon's interior. The resulting volcanos and lava flows produce plains of sulfur and give Io its striking appearance.
