Rudneva (Venus)

Named after Varvara Rudneva - Russian physician (1844-1899).

Varvara Kashevarova Rudneva was a Russian physician. Her exam was thereby unique in Russia at the time and was given a lot of attention. Despite the ban against women studying at University, she was given a special dispensation to study by promising to treat only woman patients who refused to be treated by male doctors because of religious reasons. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On Venus they are named after deceased women who have made outstanding or fundamental contributions to their field (if over 20 km). If smaller common female first names are used.
