Perrotin (Mars)

Named after Henri A. Perrotin - French astronomer, studied dark lineations on Mars (1845-1904).

Henri Joseph Anastase Perrotin was a French astronomer. Some sources give his middle name as Athanase. In his early career, he and Guillaume Bigourdan were assistants of Félix Tisserand at Toulouse Observatory. Later, he was the director of the Nice Observatory in Nice, France from 1884 until his death. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On Mars large craters are named after deceased scientists, writers and others who have contributed to the lore of Mars. Small creaters (less than 60km) are named after small towns and villages.
