Harmakhis Vallis (Mars)

Ancient Egyptian word for "Mars"

Harmakhis Vallis is a valley near Hellas Planitia, Mars. Gullies are also common on the wall , as seen the image below. Some authors have suggested these structures indicate geologically recent flow of small quantities of water across the surface. (wikipedia entry)

A vallis is a valley. On Mars large valles are named after words for Mars/star in various languages. Small valles are named after classical or modern names of rivers.
