Plancia (Vesta)

Named after Plancia Magna - daughter of Roman Senator Varus, wife of Tertullus, benefactress and patron of Perga, the capital of the Roman province of Pamphylia in Asia Minor (1st-2nd century A.D.).

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On Vesta they are named after names historically associated with the Roman goddess Vesta (vestal virgins, people associated with vestal virgins) and famous Roman women.
