Named after the Assyro-Babylonian; the tumult of the waves at the place where the waters of primordial freshwater ocean Apsu and salt sea Tiamat are mingled.

A sulcus is an are subparallel furrows and ridges. On Ganymede they are named after places associated with myths of ancient people.
