Eltanin Rupes (Mercury)
Named after the American; oceanographic research vessel with an ice-breaking hull, collected magnetic profiles of the Antarctic sea floor, 1962.
A rupes is a scarp. On Mercury they are named after ships of discovery or scientific expeditions.
