Claudia (Vesta)

Named after Claudia - Roman vestal virgin (c. 143 B.C.).

Claudia is a small crater that defines the prime meridian of asteroid 4 Vesta in the coordinate system used by the Dawn mission team, NASA, and the IAU Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature, though it is not accepted by the IAU as a whole. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On Vesta they are named after names historically associated with the Roman goddess Vesta (vestal virgins, people associated with vestal virgins) and famous Roman women.
