Kraken Mare (Titan)

Fabulous sea monster in the Norwegian seas, said to be a mile and a half in circumference and to cause a whirlpool when it dives.

Kraken Mare is the largest known body of liquid on the surface of Saturn's moon Titan. It was discovered by the space probe Cassini and was named in 2008 after the Kraken, a legendary sea monster. (wikipedia entry)

A mare is a large expanses of dark materials thought to be liquid hydrocarbons. On Titan they are named after sea creatures from myth and literature.
