Swann A (Moon)

Satellite Feature of Swann

Named after William Francis Gray Swann - Anglo-American physicist (1884-1962).

Swann is a lunar crater on the far side , to the southeast of the prominent crater Compton. The terrain along the rim and the interior resembles the surrounding surface, being marked by secondary craters from Compton. To the north and northeast are two younger, bowl-shaped craters, Swann A and Swann C, with sharp-edged rims that have not received significantly wear. (wikipedia entry)
