Cherskaya Patera (Venus)

Named after Mavra Pavlovna Patera - Russian explorer of E. Siberia, wife of Ivan Chersky (c. 1850 - c. 1900).

A patera is an irregular crater, or a complex one with scalloped edges. Usually the dish-shaped depression atop a volcano. On Venus they are named after famous women.
