Von Zeipel (Moon)

Named after Edvard Hugo Zeipel - Swedish astronomer (1873-1959).

Von Zeipel is a lunar impact crater. It partly overlies the eastern rim of the larger crater Fowler, and intrudes into the interior floor. To the north is the crater Esnault-Pelterie, and due south lies Klute. This is an eroded crater formation, particularly along the western and southwestern sides. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
