Manners (Moon)

Named after Russell Henry Manners - British astronomer (1800-1870).

Manners is a lunar impact crater located in the western part of the Mare Tranquillitatis. The crater has a rim with a higher albedo than the surrounding mare, making it appear bright. This is a circular, bowl-shaped feature with a raised rim and a flat interior. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
