Krylov (Moon)

Named after Aleksei Nikolaevich Krylov - Soviet mathematician, mechanical engineer (1863-1945).

Krylov is a lunar crater on the far side. It lies about one crater diameter to the northwest of Cockroft, and due west of Evershed. This crater has been worn by impact erosion, leaving the features rounded and somewhat irregular. But the perimeter of the rim can still be traced in the rugged surrounding terrain. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
